ABSTRACT
The (COVID-19) pandemic has made obvious, the way the dissemination of propaganda, magnified on social media platforms as well as other various digital/electronic platforms, is demonstrated to be a menace to international public health as the virus itself and as a result of technological advancements, the social media platforms make available prospects to keep individual safe, conversant as well as inter-connected. In this research, the aim is to determine how social media use during covid-19 have impact on panic, stress and anxiety level of tertiary institution students. Primary data was generated through the painstaking distribution of questionnaires, 397 students responded. The entire questionnaire were scrutinized with the fundamental objective of determining how reliable they are. Reliability check on SPSS Cronbach’s alpha level of 0.905 was arrived at. The research result conclusively advance that the use of social media has a considerable effect on fostering the spread of panic, anxiety, and stress concerning the novel COVID-19 pandemic among university students in Nigeria.
