ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to evaluate the contributions of immigrant entrepreneurs
to the hospitality and tourist sectors in Turkey, with a particular focus on the Afghan
business community in that country. The information was gleaned via the use of an
interview guide, and it was analysed through the use of content analysis. The results of
the literary analysis as well as the qualitative interviews, which comprised a total of 25
respondents, suggested that the tourist sector in Turkey is home to a substantial number
of immigrants from Afghanistan. This is owing to the fact that Afghans have considerable
knowledge of Islamic architectural landmarks and legacy, which has pushed them to a
prominent place in Turkey's tourist business. Turkey's tourism industry has benefited
greatly from this. These results provide insight on the role that Afghan immigrant tourist
entrepreneurs play in the development and policy aims of Turkish tourism, as well as how
they may help generate new growth routes. The purpose of this study is to provide light
on the role that immigrant entrepreneurs in the tourist industry play within the context of
official efforts to encourage tourism growth in a region with a shrinking industrial base.
