ABSTRACT
This study aims to examine the impact of market innovation, process innovation and product
innovation on business performance. The study was conducted in Lagos state and the
respondents are the SMEs. Though the study distributed 400 questionnaires; however, not all
of them are properly filled and returned. The study used 352 questionnaires, which were
properly filled. Therefore, the current research used 352 questionnaires for this empirical
analysis, which were obtained from SMEs in Agege Lagos state. The study employed a
structured questionnaire, which was administered to the participants. The questionnaire was
given to the respondents to fill. Furthermore, the study utilized the correlation and regression
techniques to analyze the interconnection between business performance and market
innovation, product innovation, and process innovation. The outcomes of the finding show
that; (a) market innovation exerts positive impact on business performance. It illustrates that
market innovation improves the business performance; (b) product innovation exert positive
impact on business performance. It illustrates that product innovation improves the business
performance; and (c) process innovation exert positive impact on business performance. It
illustrates that process innovation enhances the business performance. Thus, the study
suggests that significant consideration should be give to market innovation as it has a
significant impact on business performance. Moreover, entrepreneurs should take into
consideration, process since it improves business perforance significantly.
