| Özet notu | ABSTRACT After the second intifada in 2000, the Palestinian youth still suffer the shattering effect and the paralyzing split between Fatah and Hamas which give rise to the youth political activism in having greater ambition. The Second Intifada has devastating effect unlike the First Intifada because of the violent arm resistance which the outcome of the effects includes many civilian causalities, rise of illegal militants that protects the Palestinian locals from the IDF, decreased economy, more land occupation, withdrawal of Israeli government from the Oslo accord and many more. The Second Intifada taught most Palestinians especially the youths a very harsh lesson that violent confrontation is a very a long haul in achieving peace and stability in region. Aftermath of the Second Intifada, the youth activism adapted the First Intifada scheme to demonstration against the Israeli occupation, mobilizing middle-aged, old people and youths in every two to four weeks to be part of resistance movement against the separation barrier in the West Bank. The "no-nonsense initiative" youth do not only protest against the Israeli but also against their leaders because of their mismanagement of power, resources, state funds and failure to come to a concrete agreeable term with the Israeli government. The youth believed that differences between Fatah and Hamas also contributed to the slow progress because of the divided attention as PA are busy prioritizing their own agenda (power race) at expense of the Palestinian people peace and freedom while the so-called peace talks has still not yet materialized. This thesis is going to look into the active roles of the Palestinian youth in the national struggle of their homeland by limiting the land grab by the Israelis, ending the divisive political ideology, reviving the Palestinian National Council in a non-violent approach and their role to be reflected in the level of leadership and decision making by their leaders. |
