The non-teaching staff comprises of 1,386 administrative as well as technical staff with one, 164 junior academic staff while the senior academic staff comprise of 815. The sample size was gotten through an online sample size calculator to be 345 which was the number of questionnaires distributed and 243 questionnaires were recovered and 217 were valid for usage. This research adopted a quantitative research method. However, the study was led to research the impact of compensation, training programs and appraisal on job satisfaction in University of Lagos, Nigeria. A descriptive research design and multiple regression analysis was used to give the hypothetical supporting concept to see how compensation, training programs and appraisal are connected to job satisfaction on the part of both the teaching and non-teaching staff. The study uncovered that there is an impact of human resource management practices on workers' satisfaction in the University of Lagos, Nigeria either largely or independently. This shows that human resources management practices assume a significant part in job satisfaction in the university no matter what their exercises. Therefore, the study of these three independent variables of compensation (COM), training programme (TP), and appraisal (APP) on the dependent variable, job satisfaction (JS), at the University of Lagos, Nigeria, can lead to expansion in job satisfaction in the following areas as follows: increasing sensible open doors for vocation improvement; increasing the responsibility of workers to their positions; increasing the consideration towards the workers; increasing a fair worker's headway in the organisation on the foundations of the benefits of their work; making the workers utilise every one of their abilities and capacities at work; increasing their employer stability; increasing the criticality of the worker's work input; and expanding the worker's empowerment, among others. |
