Özet notu ABSTRACT<br/>University graduate employability is topical issue that has become a global and national concern. This study confronted this issue (graduate employability) by adopting a departure from most studies that have used quantitative research. This study used an interpretivist research philosophy to investigate the employer’s expectations from graduates, what the employers finding lacking from graduates and what interventions they propose should be done to solve the challenges of graduate employability. The study also engages officials from the university used as a case study to speak for themselves on the competitiveness and employability of the graduates. Participants (employers and University officials) were purposively selected and were interviewed face to face. The zoom platform was used for interviews. Data collected was analysed using thematic qualitative technique. The study established that employers expected both technical and soft skills among graduates. On hard skills the study found that employers expected hands on skills. On soft skills, the employers expected graduates to possess emotional intelligence. On what lacks among graduates, the study found lack of hands on skills and poor interpersonal skills. These deficiencies were indicated as one of the aspects that have emotional impact on the employability of graduates. The study found lack of information as contributory to false perceptions on the performance and employability of graduates from the case study institutions. On this note the study established also perceptions are shaped by factors which have nothing to do with instruction and learning. Finally the study recommended the need for an inclusive approach in university education and taking on board industry. The study also recommended universities to abandon the operating in island syndrome and adopt a robust publicity strategy so that what graduates learn speaks to societal needs.<br/>Keywords: Employability, Graduate, Inclusive, Intervention and Perception Stakeholder.
