Özet notu ABSTRACT<br/>COVID-19 pandemic has triggered an unexpected public health crisis and global<br/>disruption of healthcare systems and the economy. However, among COVID-19<br/>survivors who were often reported to have COVID-19 positive cases have created a<br/>possible long-term pressure on healthcare systems, and compelled the governments to<br/>implement non-pharmaceutical preventive measures such as social distancing,<br/>avoidance of public places, mask-wearing in crowded places, intense hygiene, and<br/>self-isolation to mitigate the transmission efficiency. This study aimed to reveal the<br/>willingness to take the COVID-19 vaccine amongst school teachers to limit the spread<br/>of COVID-19. A quantitative research model was used in this study. The participants<br/>of this study consisted of 495 School Teachers in Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria. The<br/>survey instrument consisted of Demographic Information written by the Authors,<br/>willingness to take the COVID-19 vaccine, Knowledge, Attitude, Perception, and<br/>Hesitancy developed by Zewude and Habtegiorgis, (2021). Descriptive statistics,<br/>Independent Sample Mann-Whitney U Test, Correlation Analysis, and Regression<br/>Analysis Test were conducted. The result of this study revealed that the there is no<br/>significant difference between willingness to take the COVID-19 vaccine across<br/>gender, willingness to take the COVID-19 vaccine is not significantly associated with<br/>their attitude toward the vaccine, and participants’ willingness to take the COVID-19<br/>vaccine was significantly associated with their knowledge of the vaccine, and<br/>hesitancy was an important factor influencing willingness to take the COVID-19<br/>vaccine. Therefore, it is recommended that the Federal Ministry of Health, the Nigeria<br/>Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), the Media, and all other relevant Organizations<br/>should create increased awareness about the safety/side effects issues and the need to<br/>take the vaccine.
