Özet notu | ABSTRACT<br/>The aim of the study was to examine the influence of total quality management practice <br/>(TQMP) on employee performance (EP): the mediating role of psychological <br/>meaningfulness (PM) in banking industry. The study examines three different <br/>hypotheses. The present study investigated the effect of total quality management <br/>practice (TQMP) on employee performance (EP). Also, it examines the effect of <br/>psychological meaningfulness (PM) on employee performance (EP), and lastly the <br/>mediation of psychological meaningfulness (PM) on the relationship between total <br/>quality management practice (TQMP) and employee performance (EP).<br/>However, the main approach adopted is a quantitative research method consisting of <br/>both survey, descriptive research design, correlation and regression analysis in other <br/>to attain the research objective using a questionnaire as the instrument and the <br/>questionnaire was distributed electronically to 300 employees both male and female <br/>who were working in First bank of Nigeria during the period of the research and only <br/>224 questionnaires were returned which forms 74.7% of the aggregate. <br/>Consequently, the result of this research work demonstrates huge positive influence of <br/>total quality management practice (TQMP) on employee performance (EP), also <br/>positive influence of psychological meaningfulness (PM) on employee performance <br/>(EP), and psychological meaningfulness (PM) partially mediate the effect of total <br/>quality management practice (TQMP) on employee performance (EP).<br/>Keywords: Banking Industry; Employee Performance; Psychological <br/>Meaningfulness; Total Quality Management Practice. |
