Özet notu ABSTRACT<br/>Microservices-based architecture has gained widespread popularity since it was <br/>introduced in 2012 as a result of its advantages, including improved availability, fault <br/>tolerance, speed, compatibility, scalability, and software development agility. It is a <br/>new development trend, appearing from solutions that have been designed and tested <br/>with large software companies. <br/>The purpose of this study is to compare the performance and scalability of <br/>monolithic and microservices architecture. A monolithic application is made up of <br/>one huge, cohesive unit, typically a single code base. According to the development <br/>of applications using monolithic architecture, there are some limitations on<br/>scalability, flexibility, maintainability, and performance evaluation. Microservices <br/>architecture, which can be developed, maintained, and deployed in isolation by small <br/>independent services and development teams, has adapted to new trends and solved <br/>these limitations. <br/>It is recommended that the resulting architecture be more manageable, less prone to <br/>failures, and more agile, although this has an impact on performance. Small <br/>companies’ uses monolithic and large companies, such as Amazon, eBay, Netflix, <br/>and Uber use microservicess.<br/>In this study the system application is implemented in two different versions, <br/>covering the two different architectural styles monolithic and microservices using the <br/>same implementation technology (React JS, Node JS, and Express JS, with <br/>MongoDB). It is observed: (1) microservice-based architecture using multiple<br/>machines performs better than monolithic architecture (2) microservices-based is<br/>more suitable for big companies using compatible technologies (3) in microservices <br/>architecture each service can be scaled independently.<br/>Keywords: Microservices Architecture, Monolithic Architecture, Performance <br/>Evaluation
