ABSTRACT<br/>The study of terrorism is a part of international academics in the modern era and this <br/>is because the terrorism's effect on the local and international economies in recent <br/>years may account for its consideration. The effects of separatist violence and <br/>terrorism on Nigeria's societal and economical activities, effective governance, <br/>including foreign policy are the focus of this research. A country's reputation, its <br/>citizens' safety, its economy, and its ability to attract international investment are all <br/>harmed by insurgent groups. In Nigeria's case, these issues have only exacerbated <br/>unemployment, impoverishment, and the nation's underdevelopment. According to <br/>the research, the current Nigerian administration's inability to effectively combat the <br/>threat is evidence of weak national class and a lack of good governance. This study <br/>investigates the impact of terrorism on Nigerian foreign policy. This study aims to <br/>understand how terrorism in Nigeria has evolved over time, what reasons have <br/>contributed to it, how terrorism has affected Nigeria's foreign policy, how successful <br/>government actions have been in combating terrorism, and what steps should be <br/>taken next. That's why this study will take a more descriptive approach than previous <br/>ones. This study analyzed the dangers posed to Nigeria's foreign policy by "violent <br/>non-state entities" like Boko Haram and similar terrorist groups. This study also <br/>investigated the relationship between globalization and the expansion of non-state <br/>actors. It has been recommended that the government of Nigeria has to create more <br/>opportunities for the nation's young unemployment population to work. Also, the <br/>government should institute initiatives that genuinely strengthen the position of <br/>women by providing necessary infrastructure and supporting their development. <br/>Keywords: Boko Haram, Foreign Diplomacy, Foreign Policy, International <br/>Investment, Terrorism, Violent Acts, Nigeria. |
