Özet notu | ABSTRACT
The importance of high-performing employees cannot be overstated in any business
organization, which puts pressure on them to create a supportive atmosphere by
ensuring that elements like leadership style motivate employees to perform and
provide their best work. Some of the detrimental elements impacting the performance
of employees in Nigeria include inappropriate leadership and a lack of enthusiasm.
Corporations are always in search of great leaders that can guide them to success. Due
to the fact that organizations are attempting to uncover the traits and behaviors
associated with the finest leaders, a lot of work has been put into learning how they
function. However, both transactional and transformative leadership will be
considered for the study.
The study examined the level and occurrence of transactional and transformative
leadership styles as well as their effects on job satisfaction among Abuja restaurants'
staff members. 172 questionnaires were collected from 200 distributed questionnaires
as part of a descriptive survey. The statistical techniques adopted for this study are
inferential and descriptive techniques. The relationship between leadership styles and
employee job satisfaction was evaluated using Pearson correlation. While regression
analysis was utilized to compare how the leadership style affected the job satisfaction
of the workforce. According to the study's findings, managers and supervisors at
restaurants in Abuja tend to practice transformational leadership more frequently than
transactional leadership. The use of transactional leadership style had a weak negative
correlation with employee job satisfaction, whereas the use of transformational
leadership style had a high positive correlation with employee job satisfaction. Finally,
it was discovered that compared to transactional leadership, transformational
leadership had a stronger influence on employees' work satisfaction. But not only that
is statistically significant unlike transactional leadership styles that is not statistically
significant. This result implies that managers in Abuja restaurants Nigeria, should
focus on values of their staff and assist them in aligning their values with that of the
organization because transformational leaders motivate their subordinate to
accomplish more. Also, by understanding the effect of transformational leadership
styles initiative on these results, transformational leaders can impact worker conduct
with the goal that the way of behaving emphatically affects the organization.
Keywords: Employee job satisfaction; Leadership style; Transactional leadership;
Transformational leadership. |
