| Özet notu | ABSTRACT<br/>Leadership is one of the primary factors of organizational innovation and plays a <br/>significant role in influencing the degree of support committed to innovation in a <br/>company. This research aims to investigate the impact of leadership style on the <br/>organizational innovation of commercials banks in Nigeria. Quantitative data is the <br/>primary focus of the study, collected from managers in five commercial banks in <br/>Nigeria. This study was undertaken to investigate the hypothesized links between OI <br/>and leadership style which includes transformational, transactional, participative and <br/>Laissez-faire leadership using Statistics Program for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and <br/>the Analysis of Moment Structure (AMOS) mathematical software to analyze the data.<br/>Through the data of 205 managers, findings in this study showed that transformational <br/>and transactional leadership styles is positively related to organizational innovation. <br/>Also, indicating that participative and Laissez-faire leadership styles of managers has <br/>no significant or positive impact on organizational innovation in the banking industry. <br/>The findings in this study showed that quality, productive and innovation performance <br/>in the Nigerian banking industry may be attained through transformative and <br/>transactional leadership orientations which inspires employee creativity and <br/>dedication to organizational innovation.<br/>Keyword: Banking Industry, Laissez-faire leadership, Leadership Style, Participative <br/>Leadership, Transformational Leadership, Transactional Leadership |
