ABSTRACT<br/>The COVID-19 pandemic has recently caused a serious decline in public health <br/>throughout the world, and as a result, countries have taken extraordinary steps to <br/>restrict the spread of the virus through infection prevention and control (IPC). To <br/>assess public perception and knowledge about the coronavirus, it is necessary to have <br/>a thorough grasp of public awareness and practices. This will make it easier to pinpoint <br/>characteristics that motivate people to adopt healthy behaviors and responsive <br/>behaviors (Podder et al., 2019). The purpose of this study is to evaluate university <br/>students' knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) regarding COVID-19 during the <br/>outbreak. This is a cross-sectional study, using data collected manually and online <br/>using a self-reported questionnaire in Google Docs, from 318 participants developed <br/>by Al-Hanawi et al., (2020). To assess the differences in mean scores, and identify <br/>factors associated with knowledge, attitudes, and practices toward COVID-19, the data <br/>were run through univariate regression analysis, Mann-Whitey U Test and descriptive <br/>statistics respectively. However, the results showed that men have less knowledge, less <br/>optimistic attitudes, and less good practice toward COVID-19, than women.<br/>According to this finding, this vulnerable population should get focused health <br/>education interventions since they are at a high risk of developing COVID-19. For <br/>instance, if health awareness campaigns are primarily aimed at men, COVID-19 <br/>knowledge may improve significantly.<br/>Keywords: COVID-19, Health Education Intervention, Public awareness, Public <br/>Perception, |
