| Özet notu | ABSTRACT<br/>The aim of the study is to examine health literacy and its influence on medication <br/>adherence of Liberian patients: a moderating role of social support. This is because a <br/>lot of patients do not take their medications as directed by their doctors or other <br/>medical professionals. Examples include not comprehending the directions, <br/>forgetfulness, taking multiple medications with various regimens, experiencing <br/>undesirable side effects, or the medication not appearing to be working. Cost can also <br/>be a factor in medication adherence where patients cannot afford to fill their <br/>prescriptions or choose to take less than the recommended dose to extend the duration <br/>of the prescription. <br/>However, a quantitative research approach was chosen for this study. Using structured <br/>data collection techniques, theoretically derived research hypotheses were examined <br/>using correlation and multiple regression analysis. And the result shows that health <br/>literacy have moderate influence on medication adherence among Liberian patients <br/>and this influece can also be moderated by the role social support.<br/>Keywords: Health Literacy, Medication Adherence, Social Support, Patients<br/> |
