| Özet notu | The corporate social responsibility (CSR) movement has gathered a lot of traction in recent years and is now considered to be at its peak. However, in Sierra Leone specifically in connection to small and medium-sized firms, there has been a lack of attention to and debate of CSR (SMEs). The goal of this study is to fill in several of these research problems and also provide a complete understanding of Sierra Leone's CSR. This study aims to find out how major companies and SMEs in Sierra Leone differ in accordance with best practice of CSR, the kind of CSR activities they engage in, and how they manage CSR. In furthermore, this study looks at the challenges and opportunities that SMEs have when it comes to CSR. A qualitative inquiry technique based on moderately facial landmark interviews was used in this study. A large survey and interview with companies operating in Sierra Leone were done. Following the advice of several authors, the approach adopted should be complementary to the study goals. This set of responders includes both major and small businesses in Sierra Leone. Continuing the notion that there is an industry effect when it comes to CSR initiatives. Size was found to be a positive correlation with the volume and diversity of CSR activity. While large corporations believe SMEs face challenges such as perception and resource restrictions such as financial, people, and time constraints, SMEs primarily mentioned financial constraints as a hurdle. |
