| Özet notu | Over the years, international students’ population has increased by 25% being 108,297 in 2021 to 2022 due to due to the affiliation of globalization, causing students to thrive in a foreign nation in order to meet their needs and the basic standard of living. A theoretical framework to global social work perspective as an applied science and practice by social workers on social connectedness to an environment promotes self -efficacy, self-identity, acceptance and stability that can enhance international students’ conditions, adjustments, functioning, development, social welfare and social well-being. The study analyzes behavioural tendencies of international students, taking into account an eclectic approach of academic performance, social functioning, social change, social betterment, self-actualization, acculturation, inclusion, and social development within social work context.<br/>Challenges discussed includes; expensive living expenses, international students fees, accommodation problems, unemployment, prostitution, drugs, violence, high crime rates, theft, illegal activities, spike in deportation rates, deaths, suicides, language barriers, mental health, healthcare and immigration. The increasing social problems and social development of international students and the interaction with their environment in a social, psychological, and spiritual context will be discussed in short term and long term relationships between micro, mezzo and macro variables to achieve<br/>iii<br/>psychosocial function, basic standards of living and sustainable socioeconomic development.<br/>An employed quantitative method of 400 international students from four major universities in North Cyprus (CIU, NEU, GAU and EMU) will be conducted in line with students’ positive and negative effects that affects social welfare and social well-being; interaction with the psychosocial environment and its relation to social work perspective. |
