| Özet notu | Countless infants, kids, and teens still die every year from cases like contagious<br/>illnesses and accidents that could be avoided or treated if only we took the time.<br/>These fatalities are a result of a lack of accessibility to fundamental health initiatives<br/>like vaccination, diagnosis, and therapy of communicable illnesses, sufficient food,<br/>safe drinking water, and cleanliness in these regions. Consequently, children and<br/>young adult high mortality are not only important barometers of children and young<br/>adult health, but also of broader societal and economic progres. The aim of this study<br/>was to examine the causes of variability in infant and child mortality in Nigeria, with<br/>a focus on demographic and economic factors. The study was descriptive in nature<br/>and used secondary data from the World Bank. The study findings showed<br/>that Nigeria has a comparatively high infant and child death rate. Furthermore, the<br/>Human Capital Index was found to affect rates of infant and child mortality.<br/>Additionally, the infant and child mortality rate was affected by the Gini index.<br/>Furthermore, the study found that infant and child mortality affects the literacy rate.<br/>Finally, the study found that infant and child mortality affects the employment-topopulation<br/>ratio. Thus, it is concluded that there is a significant issue with income<br/>inequality in Nigeria. It is important to invest in education, healthcare, and skill<br/>development. This can aid in reducing infant and child mortality. |
