'Özet Bu araştırma, KKTC Genel Ortaöğretim II. Kademe ve Meslekı Teknik Öğretimde öğrenim gören öğrencilerin edebiyata ilişkin algılarını metaforlar yardımıyla ortaya çıkarmayı amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç için öğrencilerden "Türk Edebiyatı" ve "Kıbrıs Türk Edebiyatı" dersine ilişkin metafor üretmeleri istenmiştir. Araştırmanın katılımcılarını, Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti Genel Ortaöğretim Dairesi Müdürlüğüne ve Mesleki Teknik Öğretim Dairesi Müdürlüğüne bağlı on okulun 9.,10.,11 ve 12. sınıflarından toplam 787 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Araştırmada verileri, uzman görüşleri tarafından belirlenen iki adet açık uçlu soru ile toplanmış ve toplanan veriler içerik analizi tekniği kullanılarak çözümlenmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacına uygun olarak nitel yöntemle analiz edilen veriler, nicel yöntem kullanılarak SPSS ortamına aktarılmış ve sonuca ulaşılmıştır. Bu araştırma sonucunda metaforlar yoluyla öğrencilerin Türk Edebiyatı ve Kıbrıs Türk Edebiyatı'na dair düşünceleri ve algıları ortaya konmuştur. Sonuç olarak Türk Edebiyatı ve Kıbrıs Edebiyatı'nın karışık, analaşılması zor, sıkıcı ve hiç çekilmeyen, bitmen ve sürekli devam eden, geçmise bağlı olarak algılandığı görülmüştür. Olumsuz düşünceleri ifade eden bu kategorilere nazaran Türk Edebiyatı ve Kıbrıs Türk Edebiyatı'nın bilgi verici, eğitici, eğlenceli ve haz verici, kapsamlı ve çeşitli, faydalı ve gerekli, akıcı aynı zamanda da kuralcı, merak ve ilgi uyandırıcı kategorileri de çıkan sonuçlar arasındadır. Anahtar Kelimeler: Metafor, Türk Edebiyatı, Kıbrıs Türk Edebiyatı Abstract This study aimed to reveal the students' perceptions on literature with the help of metaphors which was conducted to the second graders at the General Secondary Schools and Vocational Technical Schools in TRNC. In order to conduct the study, the students were asked to create metaphors from both "Turkish literature" and "North Cyprus Turkish Literature" texts. The participants of the study were 787 students from 9,10,11 and 12 graders at General Secondary Schools and the Vocational technical Schools in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. In this research the quota sampling (stratified purposive sampling) method was used. The data in this research were determined by expert opinions with two open-ended questions and the collected data were analyzed using the content analysis technique. The qualitative data analysis was used in relation to the purpose of this research, then the collected data were transformed to the SPSS program to obtain the final results. The findings of the research revealed students' thoughts and perceptions through metaphors to Turkish Literature and North Cyprus Literature. The results also depicted that the complicated and difficult to understand, boring and toughness, never ending and continuous aspects of Turkish Literature and North Cyprus Turkish Literature are related to students' perceptions in relation to their past experience. The other findings of the study shows that beside the above mentioned negative aspects, Turkish Literature and North Cyprus Turkish Literature at the same time has many positive aspect such as informative, deductive, fun and pleasurable, comprehensive and variety, useful and necessary, smooth but also prescriptive, curiosity and interesting.
