'ABSTRACT Architectural design is created by architectural concept that comes into existence and an effort that is for a building up placing where is conducted by new demands and new resources. Design is that a style of people interfering to nature in a sense. Architectural design attains significance as much as loads significance that is being at this environment. Nature has been a source of inspiration for many architects of 20th century modern masters architects, such as; Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe. Wright re-interpreted the principles of architectural design by searching nature and uncovering its hidden dimensions to introduce his idea called organic architecture, at the onset of the twentieth century. In the thesis, Frank Lloyd Wright's design is the best model of the house design center is human and nature and it is proximity of the Feng Shui principles were studied. The similarities and differences were compared between each others. Feng Shui is also known as Chinese Traditional Art of Placement. It is an ancient Chinese science, art and philosophy system which aims to harmonize men made structures within the environment. The most important concept in Feng Shui is that of life force or Chi. This life force or vital energy is at the very heart of the universe itself and is the driving force behind it. Chi flows in nature with making slow and soft curls. Feng Shui is used to provide this balance and harmony in our homes, workspaces and our surrounding environment. It is also important to remind us that although Feng Shui is the Chinese name for this ancient art, the same basic concepts have been practiced by most cultures throughout human's long history. All of those cultures emphasized the importance of keeping the balance between man and nature. In Feng Shui, this balance is based on the harmony between the contracting forces and the five elements of nature. The contracting forces are symbolized with 'Yin & Yang\' while Yin embodied its passive parts, Yang is the symbol of the active ones and, these two are always in cycling. Just like the circle of the five elements, wood, fire, earth, metal, water and which can be found in every little thing that constitutes the nature. Every element symbolizes a color, a form, a pattern and a direction in the nature. Feng Shui aims to utilize all these constituents harmonically in a space, with regarding their meanings and providing the slow and soft, like in the nature, flow of Chi in that space. This is made to create a peaceful, natural and comfortable place, because a place like that would affect all other life stations of the individuals. Although these approaches are spiritualist, realist modern masters architects used them. Key words: Feng Shui, Modern Architecture, Vernacular Architecture, Nature, Chi ÖZET İlk çağlardan günümüze uzanan konut tasarımının evrimi kullanıcıların istek ve gereksinimleri doğrultusunda gelişmiştir. Zaman içerisinde insanlar, ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda kendilerine uygun çevreler oluşturmaya başlamışlardır. Mimari tasarım bulunduğu çevreden anlam kazandığı kadar, ait olduğu çevreye de anlam yüklemektedir. Doğa birçok mimar için esin kaynağı olmuştur. Bunlardan bazıları 20. yy Modern Mimarinin öncülerinden Frank Lloyd Wright, Le Corbusier ve Mies van der Rohe\' dur. 20. yüzyılın başlarında, Wright doğayı ve doğanın gizli yönlerini organik mimarlık diye adlandırdığı fikrinde ortaya koyarak mimari tasarım ilkelerini yeniden yorumladı. Bu tez çalışmasında insan ve doğa merkezli konut tasarımının en iyi örneklerinden 20. yy mimarlarının tasarladığı evlerle Feng Shui prensiplerini yakınlığı incelenmiştir. Birbirleri ile ilişkilendirildiklerinde tasarımlarda gösterdikleri benzerlikler ve farklılıklar karşılaştırılmıştır. Feng Shui Geleneksel Çin Yerleştirme Sanatı olarak bilinir. Yapıların doğayla uyumunu amaçlayan eski bir Çin bilim, sanat ve felsefe sistemidir. Feng Shui\' deki en önemli kavram Chi ya da yaşam gücüdür. Bu yaşam gücü ya da hayati enerji, evrenin kalbindedir ve arkasındaki itici güçtür. Chi, doğada yavaş ve yumuşak kıvrımlar çizerek akar. Feng Shui de bu dengenin evlerimizde, çalışma mekânlarımızda ve bizi çevreleyen her ortamda sağlanması amacıyla kullanılır. Ayrıca hatırlatmak gerekir ki, her ne kadar Feng Shui bu eski sanatın Çince ismi olsa da, bu basit kavram insanlığın uzun tarihi boyunca çoğu kültür tarafından uygulanmıştır. Bütün bu kültürler, kişi ve doğa arasındaki dengenin korunmasının önemini vurgulamışlardır. Feng Shui\' de bu denge, zıt güçler ve doğadaki beş elementin uyumuna dayalıdır. Zıt güçler 'Yin & Yang' ile sembolize edilir. Yin doğanın pasif yanlarını somutlaştırırken, Yang aktif olanların sembolüdür ve bu ikisi her zaman bir döngü içindedir. Aynı, doğayı oluşturan her küçük şeyde bulunabilecek olan beş elementin ki bunlar ağaç, ateş, toprak, metal ve sudur. Bir döngü içinde bulunduğu gibi her element doğadaki bir rengi, formu, dokuyu ve yönü temsil eder. Feng Shui, mekânda bütün bu öğelerden, mekândaki Chi akışının doğadaki gibi yumuşak kıvrımlar çizmesi de sağlanarak, uyum içinde yararlanılmasını amaçlamaktadır. Bu, barışçıl, doğal ve rahat bir ortam yaratmak içindir; çünkü böylesi bir ortam, kişilerin diğer bütün yaşam duraklarını da olumlu yönde etkileyecektir. Bu yaklaşımlar her ne kadar spiritualist yaklaşımlar olsa da, realist modernizm akımının öncü mimarları da buna benzer yaklaşımlara tasarımlarında yer vermişlerdir.
