'ABSTRACT This study aims at identifying the effects of strategic planning on the performance of private organizations. The extent to which each element of planning is linked to performance. Primary and secondary data were used in this study. Secondary data is obtained from articles, books, and records. The preliminary data were collected with the help of the questionnaire. The survey (213) included the employees with knowledge in the field of administrative sciences, economics and people with knowledge and experience in the area of strategic planning. The number of valid and retrieved responses was (204). Data collected from private organizations were analyzed by Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).The study reached several results, the most important of which is that strategic planning has a positive effect on performance. It also showed that each element (vision, mission, goals, strategic analysis and strategic option) of strategic planning has a strong correlation in performance. The study showed that there is a difference in the application of strategic planning due to the size of the organization and the operational period of the organization.
