'ABSTRACT Flipped classroom approach is where students are allowed to watch instructor's materials such as audio or PowerPoint slides and video lectures and other related material before class, in order to have adequate time for in-class active learning. Flipped classroom approach has become a current strategy of teaching in several higher educations around the world. The purpose of this current study is to investigate university students\' perception of the flipped learning approach in English reading comprehension class. The study employed a mixed-method approach as a research design. Purposive sampling technique was used to sample the 344 university students in ELT department for the study in Libya. Survey questionnaire and interviews were used to collect quantitative and qualitative data. Descriptive and independent t-test with being employed to analyze the quantitative data. The results of the research indicated that students have positive perception toward flipped classroom approach English reading comprehension class. Also, the finding revealed that there were no significant differences between the perceptions of students of flipped classroom approach in English reading comprehension concerning gender. The findings of this research contribute entirely to the structure of this comparatively new instructional strategy and improve students\' English reading comprehension, particularly in Libya.
