'ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to determine the content of cyprus royal jelly and investigate its effect on clinically important microrganisms and cancer (breast cancer cells MCF - 7 and MDA - MB-231). The Royal jelly used in this study showed antibacterial effect on four clinical bacterial strains. The gram positive organism named Bacilus subtilus showed more antibacteria effect at 100% while the gram negative organisms named klebsiela pnuemonia, psuedomonas auriginosa, escherichia coli showed less effect consecutively. RJ treatment did not show too much anti cancer effect on the cancer cell lines which was attributed to the organic contents present in royal jelly and the receptors ER,PR, in the cell line. However, MDA-MB231 showed 12.5 and 25% anti cancer effect at 24hr and 48hr respectively while for MCF-7 showed 75% and 12.5% anti cancer concentration effect at 24hr and 48hr respectively. Gas Chromotography Mass Spectroscopy performed showed significant peaks of the compounds present in royal jelly.. Royal Jelly is a potential tool for improvement in the quality of life and prognosis of patients treated with anti-cancer therapies. Keywords: Royal jelly, Anti-bacteria, Anti-cancer, Cell lines '
