'ABSTRACT Corruption is challenge that has inflicted the development of most countries in Africa. It manifest from the political arena to the economic sphere without leaving the fabric of the society untorn. Examples include election rigging, looting of funds, nepotism, bribery, mismanagement of public fund as well as disrupting legal proceedings that try address corruption cases. This study examines the anticorruption strategies in Nigeria and Kenya in order to point out the similar origin and disparities in the strategies. The study focus on the two countries because they share the same rank as the 144th most countries in the world according to 2018 Transparency International ranking. Since there have been limited literature that features the anti-corruption strategy of the two highly ranked corrupt countries, thesis has engaged in the comparative study of Nigeria and Kenya anticorruption strategy by checking anticorruption legislations and institutions. The analysis shows that both countries have been similar influenced by external actors like IMF to establish anticorruption strategies. Hence the legislations and the intuitions like EFCC and KACC have similar power and functions. Also the two countries faced similar resistance of the anticorruption legislation because of the lack of political willingness among the legislators. However the more specific strategies live whistle blowing and the role of civil society and media, Nigeria have used these types of anticorruption instrument more than Kenya. Therefore, there is an opportunity for Kenya to transpose such strategies into its anticorruption campaign. Keywords: Anticorruption, Africa, Nigeria, Kenya, EFCC, KACC '
