Konu(lar): Özet: 'ABSTRACT Flexibility is considered an important factor taken into account in the required architectural design, especially in the current era due to the nature of the contemporary life, and the accelerating changes. The design today may not correspond to the tomorrow requirements without modification or change, and particularly, health institutions buildings have become more advanced and sophisticated due to the development of medical treatment methods and advanced technology, especially in the radiology department of a hospital. This study adopts a 'case study', which focuses on the flexibility in the design of radiology department in three general hospitals in the North of Iraq. The aim of this study is to determine the design properties which affect the flexibility of internal spaces and measure them through the arithmetic formulas which are used for this purpose. Also, it determines the extent of flexibility of internal spaces in the selected hospitals and measures them through the analysis of data derived from the questionnaire which is prepared to obtain data about the changes that have occurred during the past five years in the department of radiology as an indicator of flexibility. The forms were distributed to all the respondents of the department of radiology in the selected hospitals. Also, it analyzes the relationship between the design characteristics and the flexibility of these spaces by using simple regression approach to find the value of the correlation coefficient by the Excel Software to measure the direction of the relationship between two variables. Through the measure of the design characteristics that affect the flexibility of internal spaces and flexible indicators of radiology department in the selected hospitals, a variation in values was shown although the design characteristics of the selected hospitals affect the flexibility of these spaces and these characteristics varied in terms of the nature of impact. Keywords: Architectural Hospital, North of Iraq, Flexibility in Hospitals, Radiology Department Design.'
