The aim of this research centres on evaluating and assessing the impact of patient perception on confidentiality among healthcare practitioners and the effect it has on health behaviours of adolescents. In addition, the study further stretches to understand the potential influencers of confidentiality among adolescents in revealing their health status on STIs. The study was done at the Specialist Hospital in Kogi state, Nigeria. Chisquare was used in analysing the statistical data obtained through questionnaires that was distributed to the 380 study participants. The result indicates a significant difference supporting the alternative hypothesis which suggests a positive relationship between the levels of adolescence perception about confidentiality and sexual behaviours. Furthermore, results on the second hypothesis tested revealed a significant relationship between health behaviours and level of perception of adolescents on confidentiality. Both paradigms were further described in the nested model as developed in the study. Having studied the challenges associated with confidentiality among adolescents, policy implementation frameworks were outlined that can possibly proffer solutions and improve issues of confidentiality in the Nigeria health care system. Limitations of this research was exacerbated due to Covid 19 restrictions at the time of the study. Stringent scrutiny was done within the confines of the hospital in order to maintain the social distancing protocol, as such content analysis was not applied thus patients' direct views were not obtained through subjective opinions. Further research can establish from the limitation and draw a broader perspective on the study.
