ABSTRACT The study analyzes the role of risk management in textile production firms in Nigeria. The study adopted a risk management method, risk management prevention, risk analyzing method, organizational effectiveness, organizational success, and productivity as proxies. Six hypotheses were formulated and tested. Primary data was made use of which entails the distribution of questionnaires to 205 staff of the selected 2 textile production firms in Nigeria and secondary data in which their information was derived from the report, pamphlets, manuals, etc of the selected firms. The study made use of a simple percentage and multiple regression in analyzing the hypotheses. Findings from the study revealed a strong significant relationship between the variables. Hence we rejected the null hypotheses and accepted the alternate hypotheses. Therefore, risk management methods, risk management prevention, and risk analyzing method can be used as determinants of organizational effectiveness, organizational success, and productivity in textile firms in Nigeria. The study also recommends that textile firms in Nigeria should use stringent monitoring by management to ensure that employees adhere to risk management and also the government and the risk management professional bodies should also mobilize all necessary resource to enable them to meet the requirement of monitoring the practice and standards of textile firms in the country, especially towards risk management.
