ABSTRACT The aim of the study was to examine the use of strategic management and its influence on the performance of some selected mining companies in F.C.T., Abuja, Nigeria. The study employs four different approaches of strategic management such as entrepreneurial orientation (EO), market orientation (MO), technology orientation (TECHO), including customer orientation (CO) on an explained variable, mining companies' performance (MCP) in F.C.T Abuja, Nigeria. This is due to the fact that the inventory of mineral and metal items has supported human undertaking through centuries and will continue assuming its part in addressing the requirements of social orders. The worldwide mining industry is described by the way that its organizations come from various nations, both developed and developing. Following the focal point of gravity of worldwide mining over the beyond two hundreds of years exhibit its job as a groundwork of society since the beginning of time (ICMM, 2012). However, the main approach adopted is a quantitative research method consisting of both survey, descriptive research design, correlation and regression analysis in other to attain the research objective using a questionnaire as the instrument and the questionnaire was distributed electronically to 550 employees both male and female who work in the mining industry and only 450 questionnaires were returned which forms 81.8% of the aggregate. Consequently, the result of this research work demonstrates huge positive influence of strategic management such as entrepreneurial orientation (EO), market orientation (MO), technology orientation (TECHO), including customer orientation (CO) on the mining companies' performance (MCP) in F.C.T Abuja, Nigeria
