ABSTRACT The public's understanding of the effects of climate change is growing. Methane and nitrous oxide, two bio-produced greenhouse gases, have been cited as contributing factors to climate change. There hasn't been a thorough analysis of the estimation of these bio-generated greenhouse gas emissions. The thesis's objective is to provide an evaluation of the greenhouse gases produced by particular agricultural operations in North Cyprus. To achieve this vital aspect, data collected from the Famagusta veterinary office of the North Cyprus. These data include, the total number of heads of livestock covering cattle (dairy and non-dairy cattle), sheep, goat and poultry. The total number of heads livestock were obtained in two different spatial scales, cities and regions. Several critical studies were also reviewed to extract the emission factors (EF) of different activities and animal categories. The emission factor for each animal category comprises of those covering the regions of Middle East, Asia and Western Europe. Tier 1 Method involving stock method was adopted for the estimation of the emission of bio-generated gases through farm activities in North Cyprus. According to the data collected, the animal category poultry livestock has the highest number of heads with 730,270, which followed by sheep with 237,380, with goat following with 89442, and cattle being 69935. Similarly, Nicosia has the highest number of heads of livestock both in cities and regions (632457 and 640749 respectively). In terms of regions, Nicosia takes the lead followed by Vadili with 258392. The methane CH4 Enteric fermentation of emission estimation with the EF of Middle East region, Poultry has the highest (11589384.9 kg CH4/yr). Furthermore, for the case of N2O emission estimation from (both direct and indirect), It can be shown that the manure process emits the most nitrogen dioxide per year (527030 kg N20/yr) from dairy cattle, followed by non-dairy cattle (259474 kg N20/yr), sheep (238519.4 kg N20/yr), goat (280847.9 kg N20/yr), and poultry (55033.15 kg N20/yr). Sheep are in second place with an estimate of 35779.1 kg N20/yr, followed by non-dairy cattle with 184460.6 kg N20/yr in the estimated of the nation of North Cyprus' overall N2O emission volatility. Here, the leaching of dairy cattle leads with 296454.5 kg N20/yr, followed by that of sheep with 268334.4 kg N20/yr, non-dairy cattle with 138345.4 kg N20/yr, and goat with the estimated emission of 157976.9 kg N20/yr.
