Tez notu: Thesis (MA) - Cyprus International University. Institute of Graduate Studies and Research International Relations Department Özet: ABSTRACT Immigration is significantly central to the withdrawal of the U.K. Literature showed that the dissatisfaction of the U.K. regarding the lack of control of their border particularly on the entry of immigrants from EU member states citizens among many other factors necessitated their eventual exit from the socioeconomic and political association. Consequently, the post-Brexit era will be marked with structural changes in the immigration policies of the U.K., which was envisaged to have significant effects on both EU and non-EU countries, like Nigeria and other African countries. In this light, the study aimed at understanding immigration and its impact on the growth of the U.K. economy in the post-Brexit era, using a case study of Nigeria and Africa at large. The study concluded that the influx of immigrants from Nigeria and Africa at large has both positive and negative impacts on the U.K. economy depending on the perspective to be adopted for its assessment. The study also recommended that Nigeria and other African countries must limit their dependence on western and other developed countries and beware of brain drain; that the U.K. should maximize the benefits and minimize the costs of accepting immigrants from Nigeria and Africa at large through various control measures. Keywords: Brexit, British-EU Relationship, and British-Nigeria Relationship, Immigration.
