As a result of their antibacterial capabilities. As a conclusion, this study suggests that the cream formulation might be utilized as basic materials in cosmetics, noting that when used under normal or fairly anticipated conditions, it is safe for commercial usage within the Community and does not pose any harm to human health. ABSTRACT
The blend of relaxing extract from Lavandula angustifolia powder and Aloe vera gel helps
to balance hormones, it is good for balancing the skin, and is an uplifting anti-depressant.
Lavender extract has a soothing, calming, and healing effect on the skin. It is beneficial
for a range of skin problems, including minor burns and wounds, insect bites, stings, acne,
and sunburn. Lavandula angustifolia and Aloe vera flowers and are widely used in therapy
for skin irritation and diseases. The study aims to produce an effective cosmetic cream
includes organic compounds that can be safe and useful use for moisturizing and soothing
effects without the need of chemicals that may harm human skin. Since the European
Pharmacopoeia only allows the use of Lavandula specie flowers for medicinal purposes,
the objective of this study was to investigate the chemical composition of Lavandula
angustifolia extracts and Aloe vera obtained for the formulation of cream. Organoleptic
and Physiochemical properties of the plants were ascertained. There were also preliminary
studies of phytochemicals present in the plants. Antioxidants and antibacterial
concentration were also assayed. Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC) was used to
determine the Rf values, Ultra violet (UV) and Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy
(FTIR) were also deployed for analysis. The results of this study suggest that Lavandula
angustifolia and Aloe vera has a high potential for usage as a medication for skin therapy,
particularly against bacterial infections, as the extract exhibited greater activity as the
control. As a result of their antibacterial capabilities. As a conclusion, this study suggests
that the cream formulation might be utilized as basic materials in cosmetics, noting that
when used under normal or fairly anticipated conditions, it is safe for commercial usage
within the Community and does not pose any harm to human health.
