Unlike the Land-Based PV power plant, it is mounted on a floating system and is installed up on water. It uses the mechanism of floating to be upon water in water bodies such as artificial reservoirs, mining pools, swimming pools, rivers, streams, etc. This floating structure is fixed upon water using a mooring line and attached in a stable position using an anchoring system. This power system generates electrical energy through the conversion of sunbeams into electricity with the use of PV modules that obey the phenomenon of the photovoltaic effect (which is a physical and chemical phenomenon that generates voltage and electric current when the material is used such as photovoltaic module is exposed to sunlight). Using a simulation software called PV*SOL software Floating and Land-Based PV power plant is designed and simulated with output results. In addition to this, a comparison analysis between FPV and LBPV is provided based on their outcome result in terms of economic and energetic parameters. ABSTRACT
This thesis is a research study that studies the design and feasibility analysis (Energetic and economic) of a new technology that is called a Floating PV power plant.
