ABSTRACT
It is important of interest to develop methods for preparation of nanoparticles which
are economically beneficial. In this study a green method was used to create silver
nanoparticles (Ag NPs) using ethanolic extract of Anemone Coronaria and the
ethanolic and water extract of Sinapis Alba. The plant extract was employed as a
reducing and stabilizing agent, with silver nitrate serving as the substrate ion. The
nanoparticles prepared were extensively characterized using UV–Visible, FT-IR,
SEM, Zeta Potential and XRD analysis. The synthesis of silver nanoparticles was
confirmed by the UV-Vis peaks between 300 to 600 nm. Scanning electron
microscopy (SEM) was used to investigate the formation, size, and morphology of
the produced Ag NPs. Face centered cubic geometry and crystalline shape of the
synthesized Ag NPs was confirmed through X-Ray Diffraction analysis. Disk
diffusion, experiment was used to evaluate the antimicrobial activities of the
prepared nanoparticles towards Escherichia coli (Gram Negative) and B. subtilis
(Gram Positive) bacteria.
