ABSTRACT
A significant environmental challenge is the efficient removal of organic pollutants
from wastewater; in recent years, research on dye molecules' harmful effects on
organisms, animals, and human health has increased significantly. Alcain Blue has
been discovered to be helpful in determining protein based, bacteria staining,
histochemical and electrophoretic staining, as well as a dye for fibroblasts. The
decolourization of reactive dye solution was investigated in this work using ferrous
and heat activated persulfate in water at three different temperatures (40°C, 60°C, and
80°C) of heat persulfate and dye/ferrous/persulfate ratios (1:1, 1:2:1, 1:1:1/2, and
1:4:1) within different intervals of time (0, 10, 30, 60, and 90mins). AB8GX
concentration was observed at 50 mg/L at ambient pH The findings demonstrated that
increasing temperature and persulfate concentration was beneficial for dye
degradation, with decolourization efficiencies as high as 91% observed at 80°C
temperature after 90 minutes of reaction at pH 3. The ratio 1:1:1 had decoloured after
90 minutes with a pH of 3 and 73.07%.
