Institute of Graduate Studies and Research Computer Engineering Department Özet: ABSTRACT Educational institutions and companies are switching to online attendance systems due to the disadvantages of classic registration systems based on signature logbooks, class attendance sheets, and all those manually processed ones that take time and are prone to errors due to human involvement in the process. An online QR attendance system aims to solve the above-mentioned difficulties by allowing students to take attendance through their mobile phones in a short time of 6- 7 seconds and make sure that each mobile phone will be restricted to one account by getting the mobile phone id of the student. Therefore, their attendance records are registered into a common database and can be accessed by the instructor for different purposes. In addition, the aim here is to help the instructor to collect the attendance in an easy and secure way. At the end of the semester, the instructor can easily get the report of any student and the number of absences in class. The proposed system is implemented and designed using Phpstorm as IDE, Laravel, and Ionic as frameworks. The experimental result shows that the proposed system needs less than one minute for taking attendance. Keywords: Attendance System, Education, QR Code, Real Time.
