ABSTRACT
The aim of this study was to analyze the psychological impacts of COVID-19
pandemic health workers in selected hospitals in Mogadishu Somalia. The study is
descriptive in nature and survey study approach was adopted. A study population of
550 health workers comprising of both medical and allied health workers was

information about level of psychological stress, organizational cynicism, distributive
justice employees’ innovative behaviour and psychological contract breach in the
selected hospital. Data gathered was process and analyzed using mean, standard
deviation and multiple regression analysis to establish level of psychological stress

study independent variables and dependent variable. Therefore, it was evident from
the study Findings that, health workers experienced high level of psychological stress
during the Covid-19 pandemic as the health workers finds it difficult to relax during
the pandemic period, however, multiple regression analysis showed that organizational
cynicism had statistically and significant impacts on psychological contract breach in
the hospitals. Distributive justice indicates negative but non-significant impacts on the
psychological contract breach among the hospitals. On the other hand employee
innovative work behaviour showed non-significant positive effect on employees’
psychological contract” in the selected hospitals in Mogadishu Somalia. The study
therefore recommended that considering the fact that the level of psychological stress
experienced by health workers during the Covid-19 pandemic is high, post-pandemic
intervention programmers should organized for the health workers in order to ensure
