ABSTRACT
This research aims to determine whether installing solar photovoltaic (PV) systems
was financially beneficial to Cyprus International University (CIU) and the factors that
contributed to this outcome. The impacts of CIU solar PV Installation on the
stakeholders and its effect on the environment, assuming CIU waited 7 years to engage
in Solar PV. The use of a cost-benefit analysis (CBA) methodology and a commercial
solar system analysis as opposed to a residential or utility scale adds to this approach’s
innovative nature. The Integrated Investment Approach was used in this study (IIA);
It is a CBA approach that analyses the project’s financial, environmental, economic,
stakeholder, distributive, and risk analysis. The investment analysis method is usually
used to separate financial and independent economic analyses of the project
investment. This analysis’ findings show that the project is both financially feasible
and economically worthwhile. It also demonstrates that the project’s local and global
environmental effects are extremely positive. It is also demonstrated that the project’s
financial viability is highly dependent on KIBTEK’s average tariff rate, which is an
important factor to monitor.
