ABSTRACT
How students perceive learning analytic services in higher education is essential. This
is because they are the beneficiary of learning analytic, and it is crucial to know what
they expect in order to serve them better. This research examines students' ideal (what
they truly want from LA) and forecasted expectations (what students believe the school
will be able to give). Through an online survey, we gathered data from 392 students at
Cyprus International University. The employed questionnaire dubbed the Students
Expectation of Learning Analytics Questionnaire (SELAQ), comprises two
component structures that best accounted for the information relating to ideal and
predicted expectations.
A Latent Class Analysis was done on the data using the poLCA function in the R!
Program. Separate studies were performed on the Ideal and Expected expectations.
The findings demonstrated that although students' ideal expectations of LA were
greater than their predicted expectations, the difference was not statistically
significant.
