ABSTRACT
This study's primary objective is to establish the relationship between Corporate Social
Responsibilities (CSR) & Corporate Reputation (CR) of tertiary institutions in Imo
State. The current study takes a novel approach by focusing on the links among four
categories of CSR (economic, legal, ethical, as well as discretionary/philanthropic) and
four areas of corporate reputation. Even though a great number of research have been
done on the subject of the link between corporate social responsibility and
organizational performance, the present study takes a fresh perspective by focusing on
the relationships between these two factors in terms of economic, legal, ethical, as well
as discretionary/philanthropic.
Consequently, the researcher hereby concludes that the issue of corporate social
responsibility is very necessary for any organization that wishes to improve its
reputation. Based on the findings of the study, the study takes the position that the
tertiary educational institutions in Imo State are economically, and ethically
responsible. That is, as they strive to provide the best outcome for their owners, they
follow all necessary ethical and economic standards in their operations, without losing
sight of the need of the society which is handled philanthropically.
Keywords: Corporate reputation; Corporate social responsibilities; Economic
