ABSTRACT
Climate change is an international issue that's threatening to become unmanageable and requires serious and urgent response. It is caused by different human activities, such as deforestation and transport. Besides being costly, the fight against climate change requires adopting behavioral changes. This dissertation aims to analyze the various works and documents related to climate change and the European Union's contribution to the international fight against it. This dissertation aims to provide insight into this issue by focusing on its explanatory power. The study will analyze the environmental policies of some of the industrialized nations of the European Union from 2014 to 2019. Based on the hypothesis of this research, I believe that the response
of governments to environmental problems is influenced by international collaboration and collective identity. There is a need for all nations of the world to apply a multilateral approach towards reducing global warming. NGO, UNO. This is with the consciousness that politics and the environment are closely related. The main
theoretical framework used to explain the relationship between politics and the environment is Environmental Political theory (EPT) and Collective Identity (CL). This approach would also help us to understand why and how climatic change and environmental issues have made their way to become a top issue in international
politics. So far, the EU has been putting remarkable effort towards managing the problems associated with global warming.
