The foundation of economic progress in every nation on the planet is the role that entrepreneurship plays in it (Munyo&Veiga, 2022). This study addresses the significance of entrepreneurship in the economy of Sierra Leone and contributes to the analysis of the various effects of entrepreneurship on economic growth. Entrepreneurship is necessary for the economy of Sierra Leone to thrive (Sam-Kpakra, 2020). It has a major role in reducing poverty since it directly impacts the income and employment levels of the impoverished as well as their expenses as suppliers and consumers. This brought about the essence of this study, which is aimed at examining the role of entrepreneurship as a driver of economic growth in Sierra Leone.
This research uses a quantitative methodology and an interpretation of these data is used with regression and descriptive statistics. But this objective investigation interestingly found that out of the four hypotheses that were developed for this study, one of them (H1) was found to be unsupported. At the same time, another (H2) is close to statistically significant but not at a conventional significance level, suggesting that hypothesis two may be worth pursuing further research. The remaining two (H3 and H4) were supported.
Our findings indicate that, Entrepreneurship significantly contributes to economic development, fostering job creation, reducing unemployment, eradicating poverty, and creating value. In developing economies like Sierra Leone, this positive relationship suggests potential economic growth remedies.
