With the developing technology in recent years, 3D printers and concrete technology
have been combined and a different dimension has been brought to concrete
production. Concrete produced with a 3D printer is a type of concrete that can be
placed layer by layer without any pattern support and vibration process. Today, many
companies and academic institutions in the United States and China are working on
3D printed structures. This study, it is aimed to investigate the aspects of the concrete
casting 3D concrete printer technique in terms of Cost, time, and, labour gain
compared to traditional methods in the TRNC. In the literature, when the studies on
concrete housing construction with the 3D printer technique are examined, it is seen
that a new perspective is being tried to be given to the low-rise housing sector. The
construction stages of housing with steel structure, Timber structures, prefabricated
structure, reinforced concrete structure, and 3D concrete printing technique were
examined. Based on these studies, Cost, time and labour calculations of a single-storey
housing that can be made in the TRNC with a 3D concrete printer have been made.
The data obtained were compared with the approximate unit square meter Costs,
construction times, and labour Costs of traditional housing types. Conclusions have
been obtained about the applicability of this new housing construction technique,
which has applications throughout the world, in the TRNC by specifying the gains
achieved with the 3D printer technique. I think that the study will contribute to the
literature and guide the research that will be done because it is the first study conducted
in the TRNC on this topic.
