The goal of this study is to assess the effects of ethical leadership and mindfulness on nurses' eudaimonic well-being, it investigates the potential mechanisms between nurses' well-being, employee mindfulness, and nurses' assessment of ethical leadership. The study used convenience sampling and focused on nurses from four hospitals in Zimbabwe. A total of 206 nurses participated in the study. The questionnaire consisted of 30 questions which measured demographics, ethical leadership, mindfulness and eudaimonic employee well-being. The study found that both ethical leadership and workplace mindfulness positively predicted nurses' well-being, while ethical leadership plays a huge role in the eudaimonic wellbeing of nurses. When mindfulness was introduced it showed to not have a significant impact as a mediating effect between ethical leadership and eudaimonic well-being of nurses. This thesis recommends that healthcare organizations develop ethical leaders as well as examine the underlining mechanism as to why nurses view ethical leadership to influence their wellbeing.
