Özet: 'ABSTRACT The soil distribution of heavy metals concentartion caused by industrial solid wastes deposited in the dumping site of Güzelyurt, Northern Cyprus. As an open dumping site, the dumping site receives approximately large amount of solid waste from industrial and municipal solid waste materials discharge there waste at Güzelyurt dumping site/area. The soil samples were collected and carried out from dumping site and analyzed at the laboratory from 45 different sampling points, the heavy metals in the soil sample is detected/analyzed and is presented by mass concentration in mg/kg, the results indicated that, the selected heavy metals content in the soil samples such as Zn, Cu, Pb, and Cd were all detected by using the X-ray fluorescence (XRF) spectormeter machine, the ratio of these selected heavy metals accumulation in the soil are shows in the following orders of results as Zn ranges from 33.7 mg/kg - 1397.96mg.kg, Cu ranges from 11.18 mg.kg in only one soil samples, the ratio shows that Zn>Cu>Pb>Cd in the soil of study area. Other soil sample parameter is also determined in the research, such as a soil specific gravity of the soil sample has the volume of gravity ranges between 1.5-2.83 grams (g) as maximum the level of porosity takes by soil samples ranges between 5.00 - 12.56 minutes as time (t) and also the pH of the soil sample is ranges around 8.01-9.31 as the maximum pH values. Contamination by solid waste disposal from an open dumping site generally pollutes the soil, plants and other micro and macro organisms feed or grazed in particular dumping site, polutes the immediate environment, also human health and other living organisms is at risks, pollutes the immediate environment , also human health and other living organisms is at risks if the action is not taken to rectified / remediates the system of wastes disposal at open dumping site. Keywords: open dumpsite, solid waste, soil, heavy metals.'
