' ABSTRACT PERSONNEL SELECTION PROCESS IN HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT: A STUDY IN THE BANKING SECTOR The chance for persistence and growth is bigger for the companies that use human resources, which one of the most important and indispensible elements of organizations is, than the ones that don't use it. Today the idea of seeing human as a mechanical thing as a producing machine is collapsing. So companies have to construct their organization structure on value of human factor. The problem that needs to be solved at this point is planning, getting, choosing and directing the human resource that contributes to the company's aims most affectively and to set and conduct this system. In this project; personnel selection process which has an important and decisive role on human resource management is being examined step by step from identifying company's exiting or any possible personnel needs to choosing and positioning the best suitable personnel for company . After general information about human resources management, identifying need for personnel, procurement and choosing process is explained in details. At the end of this thesis, there is the part a study in the banking sector. In this part a questionnaire was applicated to the personnel of two kinds of bank the one is belongs to government and the other is commercial. Answers of questionnnaire were analysed on SPSS programme and hypotteses were answered according to the study. '
