Özet: 'ÖZ Günümüzde gerek kamu sektöründe gerekse de özel sektörde yer alan kuruluşlar, tüm alanlarda olduğu gibi hızlı bir değişim ve dönüşüm süreci içine girmişlerdir. Bu süreçte başarılı olabilmeleri, sahip oldukları insan kaynaklarının kalitesine bağlıdır. İnsan kaynaklarını etkili şekilde yöneten ve kullanan kuruluşların, bunu başaramayanlara göre gelecekte daha başarılı olacakları kaçınılmazdır. İnsan kaynaklarının etkili şekilde yönetilebilmesi için performans değerlendirme sürecinin dinamik tutulması gereklidir. Çalışan performanslarının değerlendirilmesi insan kaynakları yönetimi konusunda önemli bilgiler vermektedir. Bunun öneminden yola çıkılarak bu çalışmanın amacı; "mevcut performans değerlendirme faaliyetlerini ortaya koymak ve KKTC'deki beş yıldızlı otellerde uygulanan performans değerlendirme sürecini tespit etmek" olarak belirlenmiştir. Bu amaçla, KKTC'de beş yıldızlı otellerdeki performans değerlendirme faaliyetlerinin hâlihazırdaki durumu ve gelecekte nasıl yapılması gerektiği ile ilgili konular araştırıldığı için betimsel araştırma yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada insan kaynakları müdürlerine birebir görüşme yoluyla Cronbach Alfa değeri 0,88 olan bir anket uygulanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonucunda, örgütün yapısı, kültürü ve çalışanların beklentilerine göre farklı yöntemlerin kullanıldığı performans değerlendirme sürecinin, otel işletmelerindeki çalışanlar ve insan kaynakları müdürleri yönünden önemli bir yere sahip olduğu görülmüştür. Bundan sonra yapılacak insan kaynakları yönetimi çalışmalarında performans değerlendirmenin ön plana alınması gerektiği savunulmuştur. ABSTRACT Currently, as all other areas, institutions within public and private sector have entered a fast paced transition process. In this process, their success depends on the quality of their human resources. Institutions that direct human resources efficiently are inevitably more successful than those who do not. It is necessary to keep the performance evaluation process dynamic in order to efficiently manage human resources. Performance evaluation provides crucial information about human resources management. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to "reveal existing performance evaluation activities and determine the applied performance evaluation activities in five-star hotels of TRNC". With this purpose, descriptive research method is used, as existing performance evaluation activities of five-star hotels in TRNC and how they should be executed in future is researched. In the study, a survey with the Cronbach Alpha value of 0,88 is applied to the human resources managers through one-on-one sessions. As a result of the research, it is observed that performance evaluation process, which is executed through different methods in relation with the organization structure, culture, and staff expectations, holds an important position for the employees and human resources managers. It is asserted that performance evaluation should be prioritized in the future human resources management practices.
