'Abstract This paper studies the relationship between exposure to violence and what influence it has in changing attitude towards political violence in return. Within this research five hypotheses were sought out and tested, to see the relationship in question. According to different scholars from previous studies, state that the relationship could, in fact, lead to support for political violence in some cases while in others exposure to violence could lead to altruistic views in people. To test out the hypotheses for this study, a study area was selected from one of the many refugee campsites located in Ethiopia. This region in Ethiopia called Gambellasituated in the western part of the country and hosts refugees coming from South Sudan. Questioners were used for the study; the main hypothesis was whether or not exposure to violence can influence attitude change towards political violence; whichproved to have a significant statistical relationship. Also, other demographics were tested against this, such as age, education, religion, and gender. In the end, it showed that age had a very significant relationship while education had somewhat low significance. The others religion and gender did not show any influence towards support towards for political violence. For the analysis of the data, statistical package for social sciences program (SPSS) was used. The study has several recommendations that could help for the future well-beingof refugees and people who were exposed to violence. One that can be stated is that setting up programs and health centres that could help migrants and individuals, who were exposed to violence, express their grievances and frustrations in a safe environment.
