Biosorption has developed as an alternate option to eliminate copper ions from solutions in order to remediate heavy metal pollution, as it may overcome a quantity of restrictions. The object of the research is to extract copper (II) ions from water using a natural absorbent called Aspergillus niger. Aspergillus niger is said to be the best fit for the experiment after several evaluations of fungi's ability to extract heavy metals in wastewater. The mycelial pellets were made utilizing the fungus Aspergillus niger, which was derived from the environment, as a biosorbent in order to effectively remove copper (II) ions from liquids. It was investigated how removal mechanism parameters including temperature, starting Cu concentration, and solution pH affected the removal process. Aspergillus niger has been unveiled to be extremely effective. At the end of the experiment, Copper (II) removal rate was 94%. A desorption study was carried out at the end of the process, and a recovery of 80% was observed with the use of 0.1M NaOH. Two isotherm models were used for the experiment, Freundlich and Langmuir models. The biosorption of copper tends to fit more with the Freundlich model.
