Kriz, kapsamı nedeniyle yaygın biçimde kullanılan bir kavramdır. Kriz genel olarak beklenmedik biçimde gelişen, varlığı tehdit eden, hızla yanıtlanması gereken, zamanın kısıtlı olması sebebiyle baskı yaratan ve direnci ölçen stresli bir süreçtir. Aralık 2019 itibarı ile tüm dünyayı etkisi altına alarak küresel bir kriz yaratan COVID 19 pandemisi pek çok sektörü etkilemiştir. Yaşanılan bu krize uyum sağlama, çalışan motivasyon ve performanslarını yüksek tutuma, krize yönelik etkili uygulamalar ortaya koyma bağlamında yöneticilerin ortaya koydukları liderlik özellikleri önem arz etmektedir. Bu araştırmada pandemi sürecinde yöneticilerin liderlik özelliklerinin kriz yönetimine etkilerini irdelenmiştir. Bu araştırmanın amacı, kriz yönetiminde etkin liderliğin önemi ve özellikleri vurgulamaktır. Araştırmanın evrenini Lefkoşa Sanayi Bölgesi’nde faaliyet gösteren Ticaret Odası’na bağlı işletmeler oluşturmaktadır. Yöneticilerin liderlik özelliklerinin kriz yönetimine etkilerini ortaya koymak amacıyla Türetgen, Ünsal ve Telman (2004) tarafından geliştirilen liderlik ölçeği ve Sayın (2008) tarafından geliştirlen “Kriz Yönetimi Başarı” testi ve “Kriz Yönetimi” ölçekleri kullanılmıştır. Bulguların analizinde SPSS 25.0 istatistik prıgramı kullanılmıştır. Korelasyon analizleri sonucunda liderlik alt boyutları ile kriz yönetimi arasında çoğunlukla pozitif yönde ilişki olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda liderlik alt boyutlarından olan yönverme ve sosyal beceri ile kriz anı ve sonrasında negatif ilişki olduğu saptanmıştır.

Crisis is a widely used concept because of its scope. Crisis is a stressful process that develops unexpectedly, threatens existence, needs to be answered quickly, creates pressure due to limited time and measures resistance. As of December 2019, the COVID 19 pandemic, which created a global crisis by affecting the whole world, affected many sectors. In the context of adapting to this crisis, keeping employee motivation and performance high, and putting forth effective practices for the crisis, the leadership characteristics of the managers are important. In this study, the effects of leadership characteristics of managers on crisis management were examined during the pandemic process. The purpose of this research is to emphasize the importance and characteristics of effective leadership in crisis management. The universe of the research consists of busines operating in the Nicosia Industrial Zone(TRNC). Leadership scale developed by Türetgen, Ünsal and Telman (2004) and “Crisis Management Success” test and “Crisis Management” scales developed by Sayın (2008) were used to reveal the effects of leadership characteristics of managers on crisis management. SPSS 25.0 statistics program was used in the analysis of the findings. As a result of the correlation analysis, it was determined that there was mostly a positive relationship between the sub-dimensions of leadership and crisis management. As a result of the research, it was determined that there was a negative relationship between the sub-dimensions of leadership, orientation and social skills, and during and after the crisis.
