ABSTRACT Cameroon implemented different health policies, such as the Health Sector Strategy (HSS) 2016 - 2027. This was aimed at achieving Universal Health-care Coverage by 2035. The implementation of various health policies aimed to improve healthcare quality. As of 2016, healthcare service accessibility stood at 2.19 health facilities per 10,000 indigents (MOPH 2018). In 2018, the WHO reported that 20% of the health sector in Cameroon was funded by foreign aid. The healthcare sector faced numerous challenges, including malpractices and discrepancies in the quality of services rendered. This study investigated the factors that influenced patient satisfaction with the quality of nursing care at the Mbingo Baptist Hospital in the North West Region of Cameroon. The study was conducted in a private hospital, Mbingo Bamenda. A quantitative research design was employed, and data were collected using a structured questionnaire from a sample of 150 patients in the hospital. The questionnaire assessed various factors, including the clarity of information and instructions provided by nurses, the involvement of patients' family or friends in their care, and the recognition of patient opinions. Statistical analysis (Descriptive analysis, frequency, regression, and correlation) was conducted to examine the relationship between these factors and patient satisfaction using SPSS version 25. The findings indicated that factors such as information clarity, involvement of family or friends, and recognition of patient opinions did not have a statistically significant effect on patient satisfaction. These results were consistent with previous studies in the field. The findings of this study contributed to the existing body of literature and had implications for nursing practice. Recommendations included improving communication skills, fostering patient-centered care, and implementing quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient satisfaction with nursing care.
