The study was conducted at Aviel Suites Hotel in Abuja, Nigeria, a renowned establishment known for its commitment to service excellence and continuous improvement. Drawing on a comprehensive literature review, the research first establishes a theoretical framework that delves into the multifaceted dimensions of team competition climate and competitive orientation. it explores the intricate relationship between these constructs and employee performance, offering valuable insights into the nuances of motivation and productivity in a competitive workplace. A quantitative approach was employed, involving a survey questionnaire to collect data from 166 employees at various levels within the hotel. The findings reveal that a well-structured team competition climate has a significantly positive impact on employee performance, fostering a culture of excellence and motivation. However, it also highlights the need for a balanced approach to competition, as excessive rivalry can negatively affect employee competitive orientation.
